Join us for a guided workshop, taught by Chelsea Bennett, creating your very own ceramic vase! Techniques used: slab building and sgraffito. **Sgraffito is a decorative technique that involves scratching or cutting away the surface layer to reveal a different colored layer underneath**

In this vase class we will be creating conical shaped squat vases with "sgraffito" details of your design. You'll have the option to make two of these adorable vases, or the option of making 1 large cylindrical vase.

You'll be given (2) 8"x11.5" slab of clay for construction of the conical vases or (1) 8"x11.5" slab for a cylindrical vase. **The slabs will be rolled out for ease of construction.** You'll be provided with a black slip to paint on your vase(s) as well as carving tools for your sgraffito design.

There will be two choices of clay: a speckled body or a white body.

Chelsea will take your completed vases home to fire and clear glaze them in her studio.

*Turn around time is 3-4 weeks, pick-up will be at Bloom On Flower Farm*

With your purchase of a ticket you will get to pick your own lovely bouquet grown locally at Bloom on Flower Farm.
